Introducing Community Chat & Contests

When I started building UPCHART, the goal was simple: help people discover great AI music. But the more I've talked to creators, the clearer something became. Discovery isn’t just about charts. It’s also about conversation – people sharing tracks, talking about tools, swapping ideas, and celebrating wins.
So I’ve added two new features to UPCHART: Community Chat and Contests.
Community Chat
Community Chat is a space inside UPCHART where creators can introduce themselves, share music, ask questions, or discuss AI music and the tools behind it. The chat is split into sections:
Intro — introduce yourself and share your music
AI Music Chat — discuss AI music and tools
Playlists — share playlists and curation ideas
Questions — get help using UPCHART
Feedback — feature requests and suggestions
Wins — celebrate your chart milestones ('I hit #1! Woo-hoo!')
Contests — Promote your contests
News — platform announcements and reactions
You can start topics, reply to others, and have threaded conversations. In some sections you can attach songs or playlists directly to your post, which makes it easy to share what you’re working on.
There are also simple reactions — like, love, haha, wow, sad, angry, and thumbs down — so you can quickly respond to a post without writing a comment. New topics and replies appear in real time, so the conversation keeps moving.
Contests
We've also introduced Contests, which turn playlists into easy-to-manage time-limited competitions. To create a contest, just enable Contest Mode when editing a playlist, set a voting deadline and add your rules. Contests can be set to run for any length of time (we recommend a week to start with).
Once you've created your contest, you can promote it in the Contest section of the Community chat. It's easy to manage entries using our built-in submission tools. Share your contest to get more participants and more views.
When voting closes the system automatically awards badges to the top three tracks.
Even better, every rating songs receive during the contest counts toward their overall chart score.
Let me know if you need any more features or improvements. I hope these additions will help make UPCHART into the best place for AI music creators to connect, compete, and grow together.
