Song Quickstart

Get started with UpChart in 3 simple steps

1
Upload Your Song
1

Click the Upload button in the navbar

2

Fill in your song details (title, artist name, and genre are required)

3

Select or upload your audio file

4

Add cover art if you have it (optional but recommended)

5

Click 'Upload Song'

After uploading, your song will be processed and a waveform visualization will be automatically generated. This waveform appears on your song's page and helps listeners visualize the audio. Processing typically takes 1-3 minutes, and your song will appear on your profile once complete.

2
Set Your Hook

What is a Hook? A hook is a 20-second preview of your song that starts at a specific time you choose. By default, it starts at the beginning of your song. Listeners can use Hook Mode in the player: with several tracks queued they get a quick preview of each; with one song, playback continues after the hook. Your hook is also used when you share your song with others.

1

Upload your song (hook is created automatically)

2

Go to your song's page to customize the start time

3

Choose the best 20-second section of your track

4

Save your changes

If you don't set a custom time, your hook will start at the beginning of your song. You can always edit it later from your song's page.

3
