Last I heard there are 13,500 nuclear missiles in the world. If all arsenals are fired the war and the world would be finished within 2 hours. Nothing would be able to live on the planets surface. Perhaps a few hundred people in pre prepared underground bunkers but they would need supplies for probably hundreds of years. It only takes one madman or ideological country to kick it all off. Iran for instance, can never have nuclear weapons. Unfortunately North Korea does already. Pakistan does. Russia and China would probably want to avoid a nuclear war because common sense dictates nuclear war is futile with no winners.....yet they all keep making bigger and better nuclear bombs. There is even a cluster nuclear missile that has multiple war heads. Personally I think that sooner or later someone will press the button.
