Bululalatji is Arnhemland Aboriginal language meaning The White Cockatoo. Arnhemland is in the Northern Territory and encompasses a massive area. We used to be hired to play gigs at Aboriginal communities and once drove as a band out there. I was also flown out there to bring my karaoke rig and perform and to get people up to sing on stage using karaoke. One trip they were calling me Bululalatji. I didn't really know what was going on with that and I asked an aboriginal mate back in Darwin what it meant. He said that it means The White Cockatoo which was entirely appropriate for what I was doing. I mean I was a white fella up on stage singing. A White Cockatoo often sits on a tree branch and screams. So I had a cartoonist mate make a drawing of a white cockatoo sitting on a tree branch screaming into a microphone which I then had turned into a backdrop I would hang behind me on the wall when performing out there. It went over well. There is plenty of negativity about Aboriginals but they always treated me well and with respect. They have a wicked sense of humour and they took me fishing, they showed me what they do to avoid being taken by crocodiles. Tricks like standing back from the water and throwing fist sized rock into the water at the waters edge which will trigger a croc to rush out of the water to attack. A lot of the water ways have water lillies floating thick along the sides the water lillies have stems down through the water to the mud below, if you see water lillies being pulled under the water from the surface it means a crocodile is walking along the bottom towards you. Handy stuff to know. https://rumble.com/v76p85s-i-am-bululalatji.html
