Fun fact: I don't remember if it was at the Alamo or in another conflict, but Santa Anna was captured for a time. He was in his cell when a jailer named Adams noticed him chewing something, so he asked him what it was. Santa Anna told him it was chicle (chewing gum). The jailer thought it was a good idea, and that's the origin of Chiclets chewing gum.
