Yet another true story. The most talented guitarist I ever performed with is Rom Stover. Rom is a short man with a big sound and a wicked sense of humour. A self taught free style guitarist Rom has the ability to jump on stage with any band not knowing the songs and play free style electric guitar so it sounds like he has practiced with the band. He is the only guitarist I've ever seen who greases the neck of his guitar with baby oil before every set. He plays a Fender Strat and at that time ran it through a Marshall quad box that had 3 speakers instead of 4 and he still wrenched an incredible sound out of it. The girls loved Rom. I lost count of how many times we had to go back on stage to play and I had to go out to the hotel car park to get him out of his big old Ford where he would be with some girl in the back seat. Rom is still playing to this day even though he is now old. He had a full blown studio underneath his garage underground in Cairns and he has written and recorded a ton of great original songs under the name of Kodey Woodlands.If you search Google for Kodey Woodlands music you will find him on Reverbnation. He told me that a singer he worked with told him his voice was no good. He has a unique tortured quality to his vocals. I told him so and that his vocals suit his originals so to stick with it. With his guitar work and vocals it gives his music a unique quality. The Venetian blind in the cover art with our bands name on it is real, that was my idea, on the other side of the blind it says...BACK IN 20 MINUTES. We would play for 40 minutes then have a 20 minute break, so I would just pull the blinds string to make the other words appear.
