Badges
Earn badges for ratings, uploads, comments, followers, and more
Badges are achievements you earn by using UPchart. They reward things like rating songs, uploading music, leaving comments, gaining followers, and building playlists. Badges show on your profile and next to your name in comments and leaderboards, so others can see your activity at a glance. You don’t apply for badges—they’re awarded automatically when you hit the right thresholds. Here are some examples of what badges look like (hover over any badge below to see its full name and description). For instance, you might earn a “100 ratings” badge; when you reach 25 followers, you might earn a “25 Followers” badge.
Each badge has an icon and usually a number (the threshold you reached). Colors indicate the category—rater, creator, commenter, follower, curator, and so on.
Badges are grouped by the type of activity they reward. Categories and example thresholds (exact names may vary): Rater — For rating songs • Example: “100 ratings” – you’ve rated 100 songs • Example: “500 ratings” – you’ve rated 500 songs Creator — For uploading music • Example: “10 songs” – you’ve uploaded 10 songs • Example: “50 songs” – you’ve uploaded 50 songs Commenter — For leaving comments • Example: “50 comments” – you’ve left 50 comments • Example: “200 comments” – you’ve left 200 comments Explorer — For playing / listening • Example: badges based on how many songs you’ve played Sharer — For sharing songs or playlists • Example: badges based on how many shares you’ve made Follower (Popular) — For gaining followers on your artist profile • Example: “10 Followers” – Gained 10 followers. Starting to build a fanbase! • Example: “25 Followers” – Gained 25 followers. Growing your audience! • Example: “100 Followers” – Gained 100 followers. Badges are checked automatically when you do something on UPchart—rate a song, upload a track, leave a comment, get a new follower, and so on. When your total for that activity crosses a badge threshold, the badge is granted and stored on your account. • You don’t need to claim badges or do anything extra. • Each badge is earned once; you keep it even if your counts change later. • Higher-tier badges (e.g. “500 Followers”) sit alongside lower-tier ones (e.g. “10 Followers”)—you keep all tiers you’ve earned.
• Profile — Your earned badges are shown on your profile so visitors can see your activity and milestones. • Comments — When you comment on a song, playlist, or profile, some of your badges may appear next to your name to show your role (e.g. active rater, creator, curator). • Leaderboards — On the Leaderboards page, badges help show why someone is in the top raters, creators, commenters, curators, or popular lists.
