New users guide

UPCHART is a community for AI music creators that supports your growth as an artist.

Orientation for brand-new accounts—community norms, charts, and habits that help you settle in.

1
Welcome to UPCHART

Follow this guide to give your songs the best chance of being heard.

Our charts aim to give creators honest ratings from real people.

UPCHART’s charts combine ratings and momentum to build chart position. Songs with stronger, more recent ratings tend toward the top. The Live chart refreshes every 10 minutes with the latest chart in every genre.

While many people enjoy using the charts to validate their work, you don’t have to upload songs or chase chart position. You can share music, listen, rate, follow people, and take part however feels right, without worrying about it.

2
How our charts work

You don’t even have to upload songs to participate. You can participate by rating other people’s songs, browsing playlists, following creators, and joining conversations—uploading is optional.

Credits

All new creators get 1250 free credits. Each song upload is 150 credits, so that’s enough to upload eight songs. Credits are also used to create artist profiles, run promotions, and tip other users. Earn more credits by rating others and inviting new users.

Tips for new creators

Practical habits that help you get comfortable on UPCHART.

Be visible Use a clear display name, a recognizable avatar. For your songs, add accurate tags or genres so curators and listeners can find you and remember you.

Start small Don’t upload lots of songs at once. Add one or two at a time and watch how they perform (plays, ratings, comments, playlist placements), then add more. That helps you learn what works and avoids overwhelming listeners.

Rate other people’s songs Listening and rating helps everyone discover music. Rating others also earns you credits you can use elsewhere in the app. Honest, regular ratings help both you and the community.

Don’t downvote If something isn’t for you, leave it unrated rather than dragging someone down.

Remember also that a single bad rating isn’t the end of the world. Try to get more good ratings!

Follow creators like you Follow artists whose music is similar to yours. You’ll hear useful references, spot collaboration or playlist opportunities, and grow an audience that cares about your style.

Submit to playlists that fit Only pitch tracks to playlists where they clearly belong, matching genre, mood, or theme. Curators notice musicians who respect the list.

Share your music outside UPCHART Point friends and fans outside the app to your songs—social posts, messages, link-in-bio. Genuine listens and shares still drive growth and help people find and rate your work.

4
Keep it respectful

We’re all here to have a good time sharing our music, so be constructive in comments and messages. If you see spam, harassment, or abuse, use reporting tools or contact support rather than escalating in public.

Abuse and bans Do not game the system. Examples include consistently downrating other creators, running or coordinating multiple accounts, automating ratings, or any other tactic meant to manipulate rankings or rewards. You will be banned.
