The most amazing fishing trip I ever did was from Bartalumpa Bay, the pub had flown me over to do a gig and part of the deal was they would take me fishing. This is in the middle of the Gulf of Carpentaria so things are about as pristine and untouched as it can get. We fished a creek mouth on a falling tide and ended up having to get out of the boat up to our knees in black mud to push the boat to deeper water. This is full on croc country so I didn't really want to get out of the boat but we had to. We then went to a big rock with an automated lighthouse on it and fished in very deep water catching heaps of decent fish until the sharks came we couldn't get the fish up past the sharks after that. Incredible experience.
